How to write scripts to pull logs for premission changes on a file server and on AD as well as accessing certain folders

First let me say I am not good with PS at all.  It is on my list to learn more about and I am interested in learning but I currently have no scripting experience of any form.

What I am looking to do is to find a way to write a script that will pull event logs out of the Security logs anytime someone access a file from certain folders if possible and then to be able to decide what day and time that it looks for those logs.  I am also looking to figure out how to run a script that will pull any logs regarding permission changes to any folders on a particular drive (i.e. D) for a file server.  Also is there a way to do the same for Domain controllers?  I was looking at software that will do this but my manager would rather not spend the money if we can have an automated way to do this any time we need to.  I am just not sure where to even begin to do something like this.  I really appreciate any help you can give me.  Also I am sorry for the broad question and understand if this is to much for this forum.

You have to start by learning how to write a simple script.

Here is a good place to start.  Most of what you are asking is covered.

There is also a Gallery of user contributed scripts here: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter
