How to setup machine profile?
Unresolved issue, help please.
Environment info
Active Directory single domain, single site with Windows 2008 R2 DCs Windows 7 (32Bit and 64Bit) client computers Windows XP Pro client computers
Problem:
Recently I have single default profile which created and custumized for Windows XP. When users log in to Windows XP, this profile loading with no problem. But when user logs in to Windows 7 machine, again Windows XP profile loading. I couldnt figure out
how to solve the following requirements on my network.
Is it possible to
When users logs in to Windows 7 computer, customized default Windows 7 profile must be loaded
When users logs in to Windows XP computer, customized Windows XP profile must be loaded
Before creating master image I wanna solve that issue. Is it possible to assing the profile via Group Policy to the machines so whoever logs in to Windows 7 machine, precustomized default machine profile will be loaded, is it possible? Same way whoever logs
in to Windows XP machine precustyomzed default Xp profile will be loaded local or via network does not really matter.

Hi ICBL,
In order to resolve the issue, please try the following ways:
1. To put different computer of operation systems to a separate OU, and then you could configure mandatory roaming profiles in Computer Configuration of each GPO which linked to separate OU. Also, you could enable Loopback processing of Group
Policy.
How to customize default user profiles in Windows 7 and in Windows Server 2008 R2

Create a mandatory user profile

Loopback processing of Group Policy

2. To create WMI Filter for Group Policy, which allow you to dynamically determine the scope of Group Policy objects (GPOs) based on attributes of the target computer.
Query WMI

3. Another approach is for your reference:
