Hello, Method 1: After logon, open a command prompt and type SET L. It will return LOGONSERVER=\\DCNAME. Method 2: Click Start/Run and type echo %logonserver%. This will open an Explorer window to the authenticating domain controller. Thanks and Hope It Helps Syed Khairuddin I was told this actually displays the last cached server you logged into and not the current server you are logged into.

LOGONSERVER will give you the name of the server that authenticated the initial logon. Sure if that server dies, and the client needs a new Kerberos TGT, it will go to a new DC and not uptate the environment variable. What do you mean by "The server you are logged onto" exactly? Its not like you log on to DC, you just get authentication passed to a DC
