Hello,
Can you please elaborate more what you are trying to share with us.
Anyways Generally, ESX server SW installs on Bare metal (Like installation OS on brand new PC)
So ESX Server SW is not similar like general VMware server/VMware workstation SW install on Host OS (Any version of Windows).

There is no supported way to do this. VM and its host are isolated in design. Why don't you use virtual canter server (if you have one) to see which VM is hosted on which esx host. Also you can use vmware-cmd to see all registered VMs on a particular host.
I have seen this question many times and there are many posts that talk about this like this one where you can use Viperl script to determine esx hostname.
