How to determine MSMQ 3.0 System Requirements
I have a requirement to setup a Windows 2003 messaging server using MSMQ. The documentation I have read is a little confusing as it discusses requirements for MSMQ versions 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 all together. The system will eventually sink the messages into a SQL server database, but I need the queues resilient enough to persist a couple of days of messages in case of a failure. I would like to store up to 500,000 messages (average size 20k). So with overhead, I'm guessing the max queue size would be about 15 - 20GB.I am looking for some expert advice on the following:1. Can MSMQ support these requirements? 2. And if so, what server specs (disc, RAM, CPU) do I need to make it work? Thanks!
