How to create subscription onlly for Biztalk 2013 R2 alerts

Hello ladies & gentlemen,

I have a problem with finding a proper way how to create a subscription for our Biztalk team that wants to recieve alerts only from Biztalk 2013 R2. We use also classic 2013. I have not been able to create correct subscription with correct criteria. Although I set criteria based on specific rule or monitor I received alerts from our old environement. I have possibility to choose from Biztalk monitoring managmenet pack but there is no tag about version.

Example:

What would be the best way how to approach this?

Thank you in advanced

In the subscription page.

select the proper criteria. Did you try using the criteria for "created by specific rules and monitors" - here you can select the rules and monitors from BiZtalk MP.

or else try using "raised by an instance with specific name" - here you can use the Biz Talk server names.

There is no criteria available for choosing a MP directly.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

I tried to set as you had suggested. I chose server name objects from Biztalk Installation section.

Thank you for now

I don't have this MP to hand but my general way of working on this is to:

1. Go To Monitoring, Find the Folder for the application and then find the all alerts view.

2. Right click, properties on the all alerts view and see where the alerts are scoped to.

3. Scope the subscription to the same group \ classes.

Hello,

So the result is unsuccesful. I tried to complete your suggestions, unfortunatelly without any success. It doesn't matter what I chose from the menu below. Everywhere are the same objects/instances except Biztalk Installation where I can find our Biz R2 servers. I don't know where can be a problem as I though one entry from menu is for classic Biztalk, the other one is for R2.

I tried also find proper class via properties of view of all alerts but it's pointing to the menu above where, unfortunatelly is the same problem.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you

Have you done the following?

1. Go To Monitoring, Find the Folder for BizTalk Monitoring and check to see if there is an all alerts view.

2. If so,  Right click the all alerts view, choose properties and see where the alert view is scoped to.

3. Scope the subscription to the same group \ classes.

You won't get a menu if you go to the properties of a view. You'll see something specific under "Show data related to:" --> Add that to the subscripton.

E.g. For Exchange 2013, if you to the active alerts view, right click and properties; you'll see show data related to Exchange 2013 objects group. So add that to the subscription.

Likewise for SharePoint, you'll see it scoped to a specific group "SharePoint Foundation Objects Group"

Sadly the different authors have done things differently so I cannot tell you specifically what the BizTalk alerts view is scoped at as I don't have that MP installed. But the same principal applies.
