How to configure remote desktop services?
I am a user installed a windows server 2008 r2 operating system on a workstation which had 64 bit processor, 64 GB ram and 2 Tb of storage which has 2 1TB HARD DISKS. I downloaded a copy of Os from the Dreamspark website which is free for students. My
problem now is i am unable to access this server with a remote connection from other host. It shows only one hard disk. After everything works fine i wanted to activate a microsoft original copy with 5Cals. what should i do now.

Hi,
Could you explain a little more about not being able to connect
remotely? Are you using remote desktop or trying to access a shared folder?

Hi,
How many students will access this server simultaneously? If it’s more than 2, you need to setup Remote Desktop Session Host. For your reference, you can also find other useful guides in this site.

If it’s no more than 2, Remote Desktop for Administration will meet your requirement. Remote Desktop for Administration is installed by default when Windows Server 2008 is installed, but is not enabled. When enabled, two concurrent administrative sessions
are allowed to log on to the server remotely using the Remote Desktop Connection client and a license server is not required.
