How to check the NTP client sync logs?
I set up an Intranet NTP server in our infrastructure, and configured this NTP server to syncronize the time with the Internet NTP servers. Then I configured our PDC to syncronize the time from this NTP server. It means the PDC is the next stratum under the Intranet NTP server. How can I check the syncronization status or logs on my Intranet NTP server and my PDC? For example, I want to verify the syncronization poll interval for my Intranet NTP server and my PDC. The following are what I did on my NTP server (Windows Server 2008 R2). Run gpedit.msc - Computer Configuration - Administive Templates - System - Windows Time Service - Time Provider - Configure Windows NTP Client - Keep default settings except modifying the Type from NT5DS to NTP.Enable the Windows NTP Server The following is what I did on my PDC (Windows Server 2008 R2). Run gpedit.msc - Computer Configuration - Administive Templates - System - Windows Time Service - Time Provider - Configure Windows NTP Client - Modify the NtpServer from time.windows.com to my Intranet NTP server address - modify the Type from NT5DS to NTP - Keep default settings for other options.
