How to change the standard template for service requests

Hi everybody

We would like to delete all activities from the standard service request template in SCSM.

This because we want to keep the service requests as simple as possible.

Wo don't need any approve oder apply activity in our Service requests.

The problem about that: We can delete this two activities without any problems on the specific template, but we cannot save the template becaus the "OK"-Button is greyed out.

Do you know how we can delete all activities on our Standard request template in SCSM?

Many thanks and kind regards

Hi,

You cannot modify the Default Service Request, as it is stored in a sealed management pack. Luckily you have a very simple option on how to achieve your goal:

Option 1: Customitze the Default Service Request Template as per:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh495580.aspx
After customizing it, you can use it, instead of the default SR template.

Option 2: Customize the the Default Service Request Template and apply the custom template, using a workflow. A great step by step example can be found here, under "13) Configure Workflows (auto assign default incoming template)", It is related to the incident work items, but the procedure and the approach is exactly the same - you create a template and apply it using a workflow:

13) Configure Workflows (auto assign default incoming template)
http://blogs.technet.com/b/antoni/archive/2012/08/13/service-manager-101-part-1-incident-management.aspx

This should help :)

Hi Pikehunter,

You can not edit default sr template. Because it is in sealed management pack (Service Manager Service Request Library)

Create your own SR template. :)
