How to capture a network trace?
Guys,
Apologies for the seemingly simple question. I am trying to get a network trace on my Longhorn Beta 3 (build 6001) installs and tried using netmon3.But it fails midway and undoes all the changes the installer made.
Does anyone know of anyother way to get a network trace?. Note the installs are all VMs in VMWare.
Cheers

Netmon3 installed for me. I've got beta 3 on MS's virtual pc. But NM3 won't capture anything. It reports "Status: This network adapter is not configured to capture. (0x00000483)".
My guess is that we need to wait for the netmon team to update the code to support Longhorn. If your install fails, there should be a log of the error somewhere. Look in the application event log.

Just remembered that 3.1 beta is out and tried it. Release notes say it supports longhorn andit works a treat!
