How to add new server into existing domain
Hi All...I have this 2 new server (will be promote as cluster server, win server enterprise 2003). My Primary domain server (existing) name is APPW01 and in there, there's an existing domain name dbpmain.gov.myMy question is, how to add this 2 new server to be put under dbpmain.gov.my so i can proceed with my clustering configuration. Before that, i'm not very familiar with all this AD and DNS stuff. Kindly if anybody out there can assist me will be much appreciate.TQVM

You can use the netdom.exe command-line tool to add SRV1 (assumed name of one of your servers) to the domain. netdom join SRV1/domain:dvpmain.gov.my /ud:dbpmain.gov.my\administrator /pd:* You will be prompted to key-in the password of the domain administrator (or you can use another account with domain admin rights). For more info on the netdom tool, check these links:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781853.aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc788049.aspxRegards,Salvador Manaois III MCSE MCSA CEH MCITP | Enterprise/Server Admin Bytes & Badz : http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com/

Hi,Yes, that is thestandard, point and click way to join a computer to the domain. When you login with a domain admin account, you should supply the correct password in order to go in.Regards,Salvador Manaois III MCSE MCSA CEH MCITP | Enterprise/Server Admin Bytes & Badz : http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com
