How to add a program to run as a service?
Hi everyone, I am running Quickbooks which comes with few startup programs and I am also running OpenVPN server on Windows 2008 R2 server. Right now, I have to login to Administrator and keep it logged in for those programs to work from RD Web. So, if Administrator logs out then they cease to work as well. I believe I have to run these "as a service". How can I do that? Thanks

Hello, Quickbooks's database manager does run as a service. The service is called quickbooksdbxx (usually it's quickbooksdb19). You should not have to log in for this service to run. Just make sure that the service is set to auto-start in services.msc. Also, make sure that all the quickbooks clients have the 'host multi-user' feature off otherwise one of the client will be the multi-user host and it will not let the server qbdatabase service run at startup. Just out of curiosity: Why did you choose OpenVPN over Windows RRAS which has one of the most comprehensive VPN solutions built in to the OS?
