How to Restrict users from accessing local drives ?
Dear Techies, In our organization we are using desktop & My documents redirection policy to take backup of the users data, but some of the users are not saving data in their desktop/my documents, they are saving data in local drives like C:, D: etc, Is there anyway that I can restrict users to access only Their profile so that they has no option to save the data in local drives. Thanks in advance for your valuable support, Regards, Phani Kumar .B

Theoretically, yes. Try to cancel write permissions for all local folders except for "My Document". This can be achieved by batch jobs such as VB scripts and then distribute them to all desktops.

Hi, You can write a logon script to restrict your domain users to save files to their local drives. For more information, http://www.petri.co.il/forums/archive/index.php/t-1570.html Hope it helps. Tim Quan - MSFT
