How do you create a RAID 10 in Azure for SQL ?

I have created a VM from one of the SQL templates and now want to create a RAID 10 of disks for SQL databases to sit on.  How do I do this in Azure ?

Hi Tech11-EU,

Thanks for posting here.

On Azure, we use the RAID disks.

Thanks. So for SQL performance there is nothing additional which needs to be configured ?  when virtual disks are added they are optimum for SQL ?  So all I need to do is look at the amount of capacity I will need ?

Hi Tech11-EU,

Yes, you just have to take care of the storage capacity and its IOPS.

There are differences between the VM tiers that you should consider - not just for capacity but also for maximum disk iops/bandwidth that is needed for your application.
