How do i backup a root certificate authority that is on a virtual machine - when the minimum hard drive space for sever 2008 is nearly 40gb? That is never gonna fit on a blank DVD is it? I know im missing something here... Thank you Timez

Hello, see here about CA backup: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997207(EXCHG.65).aspx If this machine is also a DC, do NEVER work with images or snapshots. Hello, to backup refer to Meinolf's link. Is your root CA always online? If yes then it is not recommanded for security reasons. A root CA should always be kept offline. So, if your CA is also a DC I recommand that you move it to another server.
