How can I manage 3 PB data on cloud using StorSimple

Hello.

I am trying to find a solution where we need to upload about 3 PB of data on cloud in the Europe region. Out of which up to 10 TB of data has to be downloaded, processed and uploaded back on to the cloud. The same 3 PB data also needs to be made available in US region.

-I have researched about StorSimple. The maximum capacity that it can handle is only 500 TB. Any suggestion how remaining data can be stored and managed in cloud.

-I am looking to make use of express route so that 10 TB of data can be quickly downloaded and uploaded. I hope this is totally supported with StorSimple. Any advise is most welcome.

- I am looking to make use of Cloud Snapshots to replicate the data in US region from Europe region. Is this a possibility or any other/better way of replicating data?

Thanks.

1/ Maybe try combining several storsimple boxes with storage spaces in front? 2/ That scenario is supported ; https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B9lRc48IMAAO7XY.png 3/ What objective do you want to achieve?

Thanks kvaes for your reply.

1. It will be costly if there has to be 6 appliance... I was looking for something on the line of archiving anything above 500 TB on cloud storage but should be accessible on demand. Not sure if StorSimple + Azure Storage can help achieve it.

2. Very helpful. thanks.

3. The idea is that data in Europe is also available in US as a copy. Office in US would also like to make use of data that will be uploaded to cloud in Europe.

Thanks again!

Hi,

In StorSimple, the maximum size of a Volume is 64TB and the Maximum number of volumes you can have are 255 which approximates to 16PB of data.
Also in an Azure Storage account you can store upto 500 TB of data and every subscription can have upto 100 Storage Accounts, which approximates to 50 PB of data.

You could refer the following links for details:
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/azure-subscription-service-limits/
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/documentation/articles/storsimple-limits/

Also, When you use Azure Storage or StorSimple you can store the data in a particular region and the data replication to another region will have to be facilitated by you.
Please be advised that when using data stored in a different geographic region you could experience latency.

If you require further assistance on choosing the best option for you, you could consider contacting the Azure Sales team.

Malar.
