Hosting SSRS & Application in same Azure VM

HI Friends,

We are having a Azure virtual machine. If we are hosting application and SSRS in same Virtual machine, Is there any performance impact on it?

Please let me know your comment on this.

This would greatly helpful for us to choose -

1. Shall  i share one virtual machine for both application and SSRS?

or

2. Should i have different virtual machine for both(application and SSRS)?

Thanks

Hi,

This thread seems like a Windows Azure SQL Server issue, I will move this thread to Windows Azure Virtual Machine forum for a better support.

Thanks for your understanding!

Best Regards.

Hello,

Performance of SSRS on a VM is similar to the performance you might expect from an on-premises SSRS instance. Parity between cloud and on premises architecture is best achieved when other applications, such as backend data sources or front-end applications providing embedded reports, also run within the same Cloud service as the report server VM. In most cases, an end-to-end solution designed to run on-premises can be duplicated using a collection of VMs in a Cloud service.

I'm not getting clarity from the answer.

Please let me know which one of the below is the best option.

1. Sharing same VM for both SSRS and Application (note: Sql azure is the db)

2. Individual VM for SSRS and Application (note: Sql azure is the db)

Thanks,
