Home folders from unknown source

Hi,

My predecessor set user home folders to NAS device not even in the domain but I couldn`t find the source of it it. I checked group policies drive mapping, user profile tab on AD, logon scripts but none of them is set. Strange thing is even computers have home folders there, I checked every policy setting on computer policies, too.

I created new file server but I cannot use it since it`ll be doubled. Is there anywhere else should I check?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

We can try to use Group Policy Preferences Drive Maps extension to delete the drive letter by choosing Delete action in the drive mapping item, or we can choose Replace action to delete and recreate mapped drives for users.

Drive Maps Extension

Configure a Mapped Drive Item

Thank you for the answer but when I check the drive letter, it is different in every user computer. There are other mapped drives and they have been set with GPO and they are using first available letter, too. I don`t want to effect them. I want to locate the source of this home drives. It is not in GPO, not in Profiles section, no script. I think he created the GPO and removed it later.

I found the cause, the NAS device created home folders and mapped manually. The NAS device doesn`t show user folders even if you are administrator.
