Hello all, I'm trying to build this: One main domain controller for example: limited.local, but I want to add some subdomains for example: koek.limited.local. What I've got now is a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterpise 64bit and a Hyper-V machine with also Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64bit. On the Hyper-V machine I want to make the extra subdomains but it is also the main domain controller. So what I'm trying to say it. I want to have a Domain controller that is called for example: limited.local and have multiple subdomains that are in the same AD structure so I don't need to make for every new subdomain a new Virtual Machine and configure that etc.. Example: - Limited.local - Utrecht.Limited.local - OU's - Amsterdam.Limited.local - OU's

Do you mean that you want to install multiple domains (a root domain + child domains) on the same domain controller? If yes, this is not feasable. Pilloe, A DC cannot peform the domain role for more than one domain. If you need three domains, you will need at least three DCs. For a production environment, as Mr X indicated, it would be best to implement 6 DCs. Now if this is something you are just testing, you could use ONE PHYSICAL server running virtualization software (Hyper-V, VMWare, etc...) and then create three guest systems, each running Windows Server.
