Hardware monitoring for WIndows Servers
Hi
We are planning to setup hardware monitoring for HDD, NIC and memory based on Windows 2003 / 2008 servers.
For HDD perfomance issue or packets loss at NIC interface(proactive approach).
Need to know what the changes required for implementing such hardware based monitoring.
I come to know it is SNMP based montoring.
We need to monitor cluster based app as well and are using non MS monitoring product.
I would like know links or information for enabling such monitoring.
Also if anyone has done such monitoring please share the details along with the monitoring tools used.
Thanks

Hiya,
First of all you should decide which product to choose or which items you want to include in your monitoring. The latter might give you a hint on the product to choose.
Secondly you need to figure out how many servers are in the scope of the monitoring and at which rate you expect that to grow. Again this will affect the choice of product.
If your looking for a list of products, a search engine might be a better offer. From the top of my head:
WUG, SCOM, PerfMon are a few...
Also there is an article relating to 2003 Cluster monitoring

Hiya,
I'd strongly recommend to ask the relevant audience.

These are Microsoft fora, which does not relate to hardware nor NetIQ products.
