I installed the beta version of windows vista on my computer, now it will not even boot, except in safe mode. I have tried everything I know and I am having no success. I even tried to re-format my computer to rid myself of vista, to no avail. I don't have a windows XP program, all I have is a restore disc and it won't work either. Can someone please help?

When I installed Vista, I upgraded (like a dummy) so I guess the answer is no, I didn't format the hard drive and now, even when I try from the C:prompt, to format the disc... it won't do it. I am going to try to call Tech support. I work night so it will have to wait until I have a day off. Thank you for your response.

So,you're gonna contact to technical support...
The main problem is that you non accounts with the Windows XP Software. On the other hand, you wish to assign a format to your disk...did you already back up your information?
What I recommend to you is to look for and download "Partition Magic" by Powerquest. It's a software that let you format any partition or create new partitions into your hard drive.
The most popular version is the 8.0. If you need the serial number I can provide it for you.
well, have a nice day girl!

I didn't back up my windows xp...just didn't think of it. I would VERY much like to reformat my hardrive, at this point...but the windows vista won't allow it. I can only boot in safe mode. I can't connect to the internet from that computer. I can, however, download with this one. I would needa serial number, if you don't mind sharing.
Thanx,
Naoma
you have a nice day too! :-)

Hi Naoma (by the way, pretty name), I'm so sorry about my late answer.
I suppose nowadays you alreadyresolve your problem, however, if you still need serial numbers itwould be betterto treatthis information by e-mail. In addition, I would need to know what kind of version of WinXP do you have. That's because there are many types of this stuff, you know, WinXP SP1 (Service Pack 1), WinXP SP2, in order to get you a serial number.
this is my e-mail: fcorpus@hotmail.com
I hope be helpful.
have a nice day
