HP Server Unexpected reboot without Reason codes.
Hi allI seem to be getting these unexpectedrebooted on my W2K3 SP2 server. Thesehappen at random times and I haven't been able check the Event Viewer doesnt have other events when that happens. There are no memory dumps/Mini Dumpand page file settings done As per the server recommdantation.My question is How do you troubleshoot this problem?. and then how do you find out the exact reason?Deva Don't do what others say - listen to them, but do what you feel good doing.

How frequently does it gets shut down? is it get shutdown like in 1 hour or once in a day. follow the below steps for the analysis.try the below step for a clean boot. Steps to clean boot: 1. Click Start->Run...-> type msconfig and press Enter 2. Click Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services and Disable All third party Services. 3. Click Startup tab and Disable All startup items 4. Click OK and choose Restart 5. After reboot, check whether the problem still occursRun Offline hardware diagonatic throught the smart CD i mean the PSP. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. Click the Advanced tab, and then click the Startup and Recovery button. Click Write Debugging Information, and then click to select either Complete Memory Dump, Kernel Memory Dump, or Small Memory Dump. My HP branded Serverrandomly rebooted and i am not did any thing wrong on the server.But I haven't been able check the Event Viewer doesnt have other events when that happens. Hi, OK. You can try the Clean Boot step and check whether all hardware devices are fully compatible with Windows Server 2003. If the issue persists, I am afraid that you have to perform debugging. Tim Quan - MSFT

Do you have the HP tools installed? The HP Insight Managment Log (IML) Viewer may have information on the cause if it is hardware or environment related.www.operatingquadrant.com
