Recently we bought 2 new HP server, Proliant DL360 G6 and both are running Windows 20008 R2 with almost 100% similar applications. But on one of the servers the service "HP Insight Event Notifier" would not start. While starting th service, it says refer to service-specific error code 1. C:\>sc query CIMnotify SERVICE_NAME: CIMnotify TYPE : 10 WIN32_OWN_PROCESS STATE : 1 STOPPED WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 1066 (0x42a) SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 1 (0x1) CHECKPOINT : 0x0 WAIT_HINT : 0x0 I have updated the HP PSP and also HP insight management but still no luck. Any adivce? Thanks

Hi, How about to uninstall the HP Insight Event Notifier and then install it again? If the issue continues, I recommend that you contact HP for further research, as this issue is more related to HP Insight Event Notifier. Thanks for your understanding. Best Regards, Vincent Hu

HP advised me to install the latest PSP (Proliant Support Pack) and Insight Event Notifier. But this did not solve my problem. I will keep you posted once the issue is resolved.

I tried to... and during that time it abruptly ends with some error message. I can post the exact error message tomorrow as today is off for me.

The whole issue can be resolved by running the Event Notifier Tool under Administrator context. Right click on Event Notifier-Run as-Adinistrator
