Ok, so I am a novice to the networking world... I have 1 computer (SERVER) with an ip of 172.16.0.75..... I can ping myself fine..... I have other computers that cannot see the server and vice versa. I cannot ping the gateway as well. here is what I have for IPCONFIG:Server:IP- 172.16.0.75Sub- 255.255.252.0Def. Gway- 172.16.0.1Computer 1:IP- 172.16.3.136Sub- 255.255.252.0Def Gway- 172.16.0.1By the way, the infrastructure here is widely spread out. I do not know if their is a router (location) all of these are connected to switches though.

According the IP's the gateway is not needed to communicate, so the most likely cause is that not all your switches are connected properly. If some computer can ping the default gateway (172.16.0.1) and other can't, then that may further indicate a switch connection problem.Talk to your local IT staff, or if you are it, the from a workstation ping a device on every switch to try and determine where the issue may lie.

Hello, Thank you for your post here. In addition, please make sure that there is not any firewall (Windows Firewall or 3rd firewall) enabled on the server and clients which may block the traffic (even ICMP ping). If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know.
