Hi,

 i need to group the data in search result webpart according to custom field like title , author or date.

  Please help me to do that as shown in below. I will be very thankful to you

 Result2 related to author 1

 Result3 related to author 1

Hi,

For grouping the data in Search results web part, I recommend to use Refinement web part to refine the results based on your selection.

For example, if you want to get the results related to author, then you can add the managed property for the authors to the Refinement web part.

After that, you can get all the values in authors, such as Author 1 in the Refinement web part, and you can click Author 1 to get the results related to Author 1.

Notes: You need to set the managed property refineable if it is not refineable and then do a full crawl.

If author is a custom column in a list, then you may need to create the managed property for the custom column and then map the crawled property to the managed property in Search Service Application. And remember to make the managed property refineable and then do a full crawl.
