from an admin command prompt did you try running:

SVCHost -k GPSvcGroup

I guess you want to enable verbose logging/tracing for the client-side service?

The steps, and outputs, will vary, depending upon the client machine OS, and, depends if you want to trace "classic" GP or GP preferences.
