Group Policy Preferences in Windows Server 2008/2012

I do have more than 100 servers in an OU and there are some policies applied on those servers through Group Policy. I want to implement some extra security on 5 specific servers but do not want to create new Sub/Child OU or Block Policy Inheritance option.

Can I use Group Policy Preferences or what are the other options do we have ? Suggest me in detail.

To the best of my knowledge ,  Yes, you can use group policy preferences in this situation
