Great Plains Windows 7 slow login to MS Server 2003
Hi There, We have a new pc in the office running Windows 7 Profession-32 bit. Our sql server is version 2005 in Windows Server 2003 environment of which our Great Plains Dynamics v9 is sitting. We've used Windows XP before without problem with login and processing. As soon as we upgraded our client with Windows 7, logging into Great Plains Dynamics v9 take ages over 3-5 minutes) and using it is a nightmarish slow. However, not all users experience the same problem. Note: We have a roaming user profile. This problem user is a member of Administrator and whenever it logins to the network there is no problem with speed but as soon as it login to Great Plains it takes 'forever'. However, if this user logs in as administrator to the network BUT logs in as himself (same as his network login) in Great Plains it's blazing fast. I don't understand this. Another user who is a member of Administrator does not experience the same problem. I thought that the problem is this particular user's profile (about 494 mb). However, when I look at some users it even have 694 mb and can login to the network and Great Plains without trouble. I tried to play around with the Performance Windows>Visual Effects tab by using 'Adjust for best performance' and noted without any major effect at all. I am really desperate on this and don't know the resolution. Please help. P.S. I am not an IT person but just have interest in it. Thanks a lot in advance.
