Getting Bad_record_MAC when making an FTPS connection to a server with a different version of TLS and FTPS
Getting Bad_record_MAC when making an FTPS connection to a server with a different version of TLS and FTPS. We changed hosting companies, now when we try to make a FTPS connection we get the error. No network or firewall issues come into play. IP address and DNS names as well as FTPS setup are correct. Only difference is we are now connecting to a hosting service that has a different rev of TLS and FTPS. Is there anything we can try without having them upgrade their version of TLS or FTPS?

Hi, When the client was attempting to negotiate a TLS 1.2 connection but the server supported only TLS 1.0, it will not send client certificates to the server. The only solution to resolve the issue is to reduce the client TLS version to match the server capabilities. In this case, you can configure the client to use TLS 1.0 and uncheck TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2. Best Regards Scott Xie
