GPO problem / home directories.
Hello All!I'm test running 2008 here in my small network in my house. This is what I want to do:1. home directories2. disk quotas 50 gb, + enforce.3. public share w/o logging.4. map the home directories and public share with a login script. This is what I've done so far.1. AD is installed with a .LOCAL domain.2. Home Directories are setup in each users profile3. Disk Quotas have been setup.4. Made an OU and placed my "KIDS" into this OU. and set a GPO to enforce the quotas on them.5. placed the login.bat into users profiles. Now here are the problems that I'm having.1. Home Directories don't work. They get mapped but when I enter the directory I get "access denied" properties window opens and shows me a total disk space used and in RAW format.2. Disk Quotes are being imposed on an administrators too.3. Can't write to the public share.Next, as a workaround I had to disable the disk quotas and that seemed to solve the problem with the public share.Any help would appreciated.

I've noticed that when you share a folder in windows 2008 it gives permissions to the everyone group. If you created a group for your kids and they are not part of the everyone group they will get access denied. I would check the permissions on the share and give permission for the group you created for your kids and remove the everyone group from the permissions list. Let me know if this helps.

Keep in mind also that the default permission when you create a share is read-only for the Everyone Group.
I am pretty sure changing this permission on the share will fix the problem.
