GPO is applying - why?

Hello,

I am testing a gpo.

I have a gpo getting applied to server 2008 and up and it is not suppose to.

the gpo created was targeting XP and Windows 7.  Only XP and Windows 7 computers should be receiving this policy. 

Here is the WMI filter:

select * from Win32_OperatingSystem where Version like "6.%" or Version like "5.1%" and ProductType = "1"

It does not apply to server 2003 systems.

The security filtering is authenticated users.

i don't really understand what you are trying to achieve.

you just want the goo to apply to windows xp and 7 only and nothing else?

where have you linked the goo?

Hi,

In addition to Denis Cooper's suggeation, you can also try the following methods to narrow down this issue:

Firstly, please check if the scope of this GPO and the setting of Security Filtering are correct.

Secondly, please follow the steps below to check if the GPO is applied to the server 2008 :

  1. Click Start, type rsop.msc in the search box to access Resultant set of policy.
  2. Check if the GPO is applied to server 2008.
