IEM is deprecated and will not apply to any IE10 nor IE11 machines: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj890998.aspx

IE9 still uses IEM, but you should consider changing to GPP, as this will apply to all IE versions.

IE Fav folders and links, can be managed with GPP folders and GPP shortcuts

Hi,

I have set the GPP and remove the IEM but  now i can see both in IE 8 so how to remove that?

AS

Note: Found this

To Remove the Internet Explorer Maintenance Processing completely, the solution is to remove the following GUID from gPCUserExtensionNames on the respective GPO:

[{A2E30F80-D7DE-11D2-BBDE-00C04F86AE3B}{FC715823-C5FB-11D1-9EEF-00A0C90347FF}]

I don't understand what you mean?

You can see both? Both of which? Can you show a screenshot?

Hi Don,

As per per my first post, i have push the GPO with IEM and its applied only to IE 8. after your reply i have removed everything in IEM and create FAV  URL in GPP Shortcut.

Now Some users got Two URL sets( i create two names in highlighted)

I removed the

following GUID from gPCUserExtensionNames on the respective GPO:

[{A2E30F80-D7DE-11D2-BBDE-00C04F86AE3B}{FC715823-C5FB-11D1-9EEF-00A0C90347FF}]

and also delete the GPO but still appear?

Hmm, so just for me to be clear:

You had a GP which deployed favorites via IEM.
You created a new GP which deploys the same favorites via GPP.
You deleted the first (IEM) GP.
There are now two sets of the same favorites.

Did you set the new GPP favorites to use exactly the same filenames and folder path?

It seems that the removal of the IEM GP, has abandoned the old settings/content (similar to the tattooing problem)?

If you wish to delete some favorites, you can use GPP to do that.

Hi,

How it the issue going? Have we pushed Favorites to IE 8, 9, 10, 11 successfully?

Have we followed the suggestion provided by Don to troubleshoot the double Favorites folders in IE 8?

If there is any persisting issue, please dont hesitate to let us know.

You can use the GPP "Folders" item to delete the folder.
