Fresh windows 2008 R2 enterprise installatiion over iscsi disk fails with DeployIscsiDriversOffline: Failed to apply preinstall settings; status 0x8007000d[gle=0x0000000d]
I am doing windows 2008 R2 fresh OS installation over iscsi disk. I am installing windows 2008 R2 enterprise OS.
After selecting iscsi disk to install on, setup.exe fails at last stage of installation “installation complete” phase with following error message :
“Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed”?
This issue is very consistent and happens all the time. I also tried with windows 2008 R2 with SP1 DVD image still same issue.
I am injecting my network drivers through DISM in boot.wim both index and install.wim image too. Due to this it discovers iscsi disk in winPE and OS installation time. Right IBFT table has
been registered at boot time NIC BIOS Code.
Actual error code reported in setupact.log are:

Thanks Tim. I Already have checked this KB article, and i am using windows 2008 R2 DVD image to inject my OEM drivers.
This DVD has boot.wim and install.wim. This both platform are x64 bit (winPE x64). So there is no cross platform issue here.
I have injected my vnic OEM x64 drivers in it's Boot.wim both index ( index 1 and index 2) for winPE x64 platform.
Also injected my vnic OEM x64 driver in it's install.wim file all indexes. ( this are also x64 platform).
Same thing i have tried with windows 2008 R2 with SP1 DVD to inject my vnic OEM x64 driver in their all index of boot.wim and install.wim.
Same issue occurs on both DVD during iscsi OS installations.
Thanks
Parag

Hi,
I checked with some experts here, This scenario is not supported by Microsoft.
You will need to seek support from the vendor to get this working.
Looking at the error code,
0x8007000D
ERROR_INVALID_DATA
The data is invalid
It seems there may be something wrong with the driver package.
Researching XSIGOBUS\VNIC\7&27F242DD&0&VNISCSI
These are InifiniBand NIC cards not Ethernet NIC. There is no inbox support for IB Cards for iSCSI boot. Also this XSIGOBUS is open source driver.
There is no support on this configuration, but we can suggest to try the Mellanox Drivers. These seem pretty successful using flexboot.
