Fortigate Device Monitoring with SNMP

HI

I have SCOM 2012 R2 in my environment. I want to do network device monitoring for Fortigate routers\firewalls. I have configured all firewall ports between my management server and fortigate device. I have created SNMP v1,v2 run as account and have added community string in network device as well. When i create the rule and run it, my fortigate device appears in the Network Device Pending management. On alerts pane i can see that the rule discovery is failing. The error log says there might be problem in credentials or firewall settings. But i have configured all of them properly. Please help

What exactly failed during discovery?

Weird.

Are you able to do a SNMP get from outside SCOM?

Using snmpget or MIBBrowser:

Mai

Network team has configured device, and its done as per above blog. I read somewhere that in order to receive SNMP, we need to installk MIB files. Do anyone have worked with SCOM and Fortinate devices?

Hi!

SCOM is not interested in MIBs. You have to configure your monitors/rules for each product by your own (what is a good think once you know how).

Have you made it to discover the devices with SCOM?

Cheers,
Patrick
