First time Firewall Install
Hello, I am thinking about installing a D-link DFL-210 NetDefend Network Security UTM Firewall on my network at home (Product page: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=512) and I must admit this is the first hardware firewall I've ever installed so I'm not really sure exactly how to set it up. My network is client/server based (1 server running server 2008 (DC/DHCP/DNS), the other two running server 2003 (one is FTP/Web/File Server the other is a VPN server). And multiple OS clients (Windows/Mac/Linux). All three servers connect directly to the router. My question is, can I connect the firewall between the servers and the router and have it forward any nessessary traffic to the router (like setting the default gateway on the friewall to the IP of the router)? If so, how would I go about doing that? Here is the user interface Emulator for the Firewall I am thinking about buying: http://security.dlink.com.tw/demo/2_12_00_Normal/index.html Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, It seems to be more related to D-link configuration. I suggest that you contact D-link for the guideline. Thanks. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
