Firewall issue
Dear All,
Need your help for resolving one network Issue.
Setup like this.
In one customer place we are using Windows Server 2003 Ent Edition with the following Configuration.
Edition: Windows Server 2003 Ent / 32 Bit
Services; AD, DNS and Exchange Server 2003
Firewall: ISA 2004
For this customer we are using Two Access Point
1)
Internal Network - ISA is Controlling the Access ( URL Filtering etc is configured..)
2)
External / Guest – No Proxy
External Network cable is connected with Cisco Switch, from there these Access point are connected.
We are facing the below Problem
1.
If I am connecting these two Access point , packets are dropping and request timeout is coming intermediately
2.
If I am connecting one access point , there is no issue
3.
Or if I am stopping ISA Server Access poing are working properly.
4.
Or I have to reboot these access point its Working
Let me know what will be the reason behind this issue.. Last two month I am spoiling my head.

Hello,
you said that you are using Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with the following:
AD+ DNS + Exchange + ISA.
Do you know that this is not recommanded?
It is not recommanded to use multihomed DCs. I recommand that this server will be only a DC+DNS with an only one IP address.
Installing Exchange + AD on the same server is not recommanded. Also, I don't recommand that you firewall is also a DC for security reasons.

Hello,
running all services on a single machine and this one is also a DC where multihoming is not recommended configuration and also Exchange on a DC is not recommended is a bad idea.
Sounds for me that your access points do not work together with the switch when connected both. So check with the AP vendor or Cisco if this connections are supported.
Additional make sure the machines connecting via the AP get correct DNS information about the domain. Please post an unedited ipconfig /all from a problem client and the DC/DNS server, at least the internal ip address complete, the external you can
change to not readable if you conecernd about.
How is the binding order of the NICs on the server set?Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
