We have a scenario where a customer wants automatic email notifications for FSRM quota and file screening violations and storage reports. However, the customer does not have exchange server and is using gmail server for business email. In this scenario, how can we configure email notification for FSRM. in the configuration windows, it always ask for IP address or host name of the smtp server. 

All Server version is 2008 R2.

You can install SMTP feature on server where FSRM installed, then configure it with gmail (something like http://www.jppinto.com/2010/07/how-to-configure-iis-smtp-server-to-forward-emails-using-a-gmail-account/ or http://www.vsysad.com/2014/01/configure-iis-smtp-server-to-use-gmail-to-forward-messages/).
