Fiber channel target with Storage Server?
I am currently running the iSCSI target service on Windows Storage Server 2008. Is there any way to use a fiber HBA to allow the server to be a fiber channel target?

Hi,
I'm a little unclear about the question. If you would like to replace the iSCSI with fiber channel, you can contact the device provider for further information (machine vendor to confirm if it support fiber and fiber vendor for the detailed steps to install).Shaon Shan |TechNet Subscriber Support in forum |If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Shaon,
I would like to use Windows Storage Server as a fiber channel target to present a LUN on my SAS RAID array to a virtual machine host. I found this post online, but I can't find any information to back the statement up:

I was wondering if this is even possible with Windows Storage Server and a fiber channel HBA.
Thoughts? Thanks for your help.

Hi,
From the following articles, fiber channel should be supported in Windows 2008:

Windows Storage Server is built on the Windows Server operating system, so that it should still be supported. However as WSS is an OEM system, you'd better contact device manufacturer for sure.Shaon Shan |TechNet Subscriber Support in forum |If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
