FTP error
Greetings. Although this may not seem like a place to be posting FTP errors, I believe the issue lies with Server 2008 Standard. I have installed FTP 7.5 - tested all ports - and keep getting the same error when trying to connect via FTP - Failed to retrieve directory listing. Here is the log from my client: 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Status: Connecting to 207.236.146.18:9091... 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 220 Microsoft FTP Service 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Command: USER mikek 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 331 Password required for mikek. 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Command: PASS ********* 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 230 User logged in. 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Command: OPTS UTF8 ON 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 200 OPTS UTF8 command successful - UTF8 encoding now ON. 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Status: Connected 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Status: Retrieving directory listing... 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Command: CWD c:\inetpub\wwwroot 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 550 The parameter is incorrect. 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Command: PWD 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 257 "/" is current directory. 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Command: TYPE I 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 200 Type set to I. 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Command: PORT 207,236,146,18,35,131 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Response: 501 Server cannot accept argument. 2009-06-29 12:55:56 2512 0 Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing 2009-06-29 12:55:59 2512 0 Status: Disconnected from server As you can see, I am conencting fine - but it fails when it tries to list the directory. I have setup an FTPusers group, added users to the group, checked permissions - and everything looks good. It does not matter which FTP client I use - I get the same error. Any help with this woulod be most appreciated. I am GOING nuts here. Thanks.

Greetings. I have done both of the above mentioned things. IIS sends me to server forum. Server forum sends me to IIS forum. It does not matter what directory I use. I created a directory called FTP, added permissions - same error. This is a server error, I am convinced of it - but no proof as of yet. In fact, instead of the server bing the problem, it may be an FTP7.5 issue - which I installed. Thanks for the posts. If anybody out there has any ideas - it would be most appreciated. I have posted this question now on the FTP client forums, IIS forums, Server 2008, MS Partner site, and have got on my knees and prayed to the computer gods for direction. Guess my karma just ain't in line with FTP this week.
