FTP Isolate users using Active Directory
We have been using "FTPIsolate users using Active Directory" for a while now. We are running Windows 2003 SP2 for our FTP server. But all of a sudden our users cannot use their UPN account to logon to the FTP server, it keeps getting a logon failure.

A good place to start would be with the network;if IISis notable to query Active Directorythen it willdeny login.

The only thing that went on last week, is we removed the last Windows 2003 domain controller in our environment. But our forest level is still at Windows 2003. Do you think this would have anything to do with it? Where would we check for network problems?

Ryan,We found out that this is a known issue, Microsoft has an internal patch for it. But at this time it is not clear whether or where this patch will be applied.

Hi,This issue may also occur if the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) service that is included in IIS 6.0 maintains a cache of the first domain controller with which it communicates. When that domain controller is offline or is unavailable, IIS 6.0 does not renegotiate a connection to another domain controller. Please try to run "iisreset" command on FTP server for troubleshooting. Click Start, click Run, type "IISRESET", press Enter. After IIS was reset, try to test on clients. If the issue persists, please let us know the detailed error message the user get and help to collect MPS Report on IIS server.Download MPS Reporting Tool (MPSRPT_PFE.EXE) from the following link: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=00ad0eac-720f-4441-9ef6-ea9f657b5c2f&DisplayLang=en)Please note: The link may be truncated when you read the E-mail. Be sure to include all text between '(' and ')' when navigating to the download location.B . Right click MPSRPT_PFE.EXE and select Run as Administrator to run this tool, and you will see a Command Window start up.C . Please type Y with the message of <Include the MSINFO32 report? (defaults to Y in 15 seconds)[Y,N]?D . When the tool is done you will see an Explorer Window opening up the %systemroot%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\cab folder and containing a <Computername>MPSReports.cab file. After collecting, please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and then give me the download address.Thanks.This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
