FREE APP SERVICE in Pay-As-You-Go subscription

Does anyone know what the metric and graph for "FREE APP SERVICE - AZURE APP SERVICE" in the subscription management portal actually means.

It say "10 Apps included" but then it also says "11.99 Apps" have been "used" this month in a bar graph.

Fortunately it also says that the cost is $0.00, which is just as well because I'm only running apps in Basic & Standard mode anyway with only a couple of "free" websites that aren't even running.

So, just what is this nonsenical metric supposed to repres

Hello Msgwrx,

When you read Included in the graph, it means "It Contains the amount of the resource that is included at no charge in your current billing period." and Consumed would mean "Contains the amount of the resource that has been consumed during the billing period."

Please refer to the link below that will give you information on understanding your bill:

However, please share a screen-shot of what exactly you are referring to understand your question better.

Sure, here's the screen shot from about 10 minutes ago... I don't believe we have "consumed" anything actually; it's the "12.42 Apps" of the "10 Apps included" that doesn't make sense.

This "answer" doesn't explain anything while I have no intention of raising a support ticket.

As already mentioned, I'm not currently running any "free" apps , I'm paying for the apps I'm using, so what it should be is zero apps used.

So, the question remains; just what this metric is supposed to m

Hello Msgwrx,

I understand that you are not running any free application. However, your applications that are running in the FREE APP SERVICE PLAN come with a limit of 10 free webapps. Please refer to the link below for more information on this:
http://azure.microsoft.com/blog/2015/03/25/bandwidth-quota-changes-to-the-free-offer-of-azure-app-service/

The reason I want you to create a support ticket is so that we can validate your usage to verify if the graph is showing valid matrices.

Well, I can assure you that up until Friday 3rd of July 2015 absolutely NONE of my "FREE" apps were running at all. Therefore your billing process is completely and utterly wrong.

If it wasn't for the fact that your Australian Data Center crashed on Friday I would have had more time to follow this up and prove it to you. As it is, you're going to have to work it out for yourself.

Good bye
