Hi All,I need help! I have a Server 2000 SP4 server, with IIS6. I'm trying to install FASTCGI.I've downloaded the most recent version for 32 bit, and I get this error during install:"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"I've tried an older FASTCGI version and get the same thing.Does anyone have ANY ideas?Thanks!

Hi , As a preliminary check, please contact the vendor to check the system requirements. Second if your OS is recommended as per fastcgi, then please download the relevant package, i would suggest posting in fastcgi forums to understand more about the installation problems

Microsoft is the vendor, and they don't provide much about it, nor any support info.If you can point me to a FASTCGI forum, I'd be happy to post there...Just don't say post somewhere that doesn't exist.Thanks

You may receive Error 1721 when you try to remove programs by using Add or Remove Programs in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891985 By the way, you can get FastCGI for IIS 6 from the following link. Hi, The best method to verfiy your current situation is to install any of other programs, if you got the same error message, it can be related to the problem on windows installer service. If not, i suppose this is a problem on FASTCGI side.seti1985

Unfortunately, it looks like Vincent HU didn't actually read your question before he marked his incorrect reply as Answered. IIS 5.0 doesn't support FastCGI - that's the correct answer and that's why you are running into this issue when you try and install it.
