External Connector - Inputs required
Hi,
Need inputs on following points:
1. Do we need to install Windows Server - External Connector?
2. If I have already using TS-CAL, can I install Terminal Services - External Connector for that server?
I found this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/887432
Is there any other link for Terminal Serices - External Connector installation and configuration on Windows 2008 server.

Hi,
·
1. Do we need to install Windows Server - External Connector?
As the article states, EC license is for external user. Since the question is more related to license, you can call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday,
6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist, and you can get more detail information from there. Worldwide customers can use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in their
locations.
2. If I have already using TS-CAL, can I install Terminal Services - External Connector for that server?
As far as I know, we can install different type of TS license on the same server. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Thanks .... Joson,
I am ok with 2nd answer......
Howevere in 1st question I just wanted clarification on whether Windows Server - External Connector is some thing to be installed (like Terminal Services - External Connector) or it is just a paper license (like normal CAL)?

Hi,
It is just a paper license.

Hi,
1. How does the Terminal Server License server recognise an external user or an internal user if the licensing mode is set to per user?
2. The article also suggests that If the external connector does not work after you follow these steps, you may have to install per-user licenses on the Terminal Server License Server. Got confused as in the steps we will be configuring per user mode only.
