Explorer.exe keeps crashing
Hello all,I have a strange problem on my hands on my 64bit 2k8 box. Anytime I right-click a file with an unknown file type, explorer crashes. I thought maybe there was a third-party extension installed but that doesn't seem to be the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the result of the crash:

Hi,
First of all, please boot the system into Safe Mode to isolate the influence of third party applications.
The following article described the similar issue to yours, you can refer to:
Right Click and explorer.exe crashes - Vista - Solved
http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-7343-0.html?forumID=102&threadID=310225
If the issue doesnt occur in Safe Mode. You may uninstall the applications and programs one by one to isolate which program cause the issue. If the issue continues, I would like to suggest that you contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your request. Because it seems to be application crash issue and we need to analyze the crash dump file to narrow down the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, it is not effective for us to debug the crash dump file here in the forum. Thanks for your understanding.
To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;OfferProPhone#faq607
Hope the issue will be resolved soon.
