Excel 2010 has stopped working on Windows Server 2008 R2, hhctrl.ocx issue
Hi,
If the Excel 2010 worked fine before, I would like suggest you find the installation of update:
Get details from Control panel > Windows update > View update history or view the C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
Remove the update installed and restart computer.
In addition, please post thread in the Office forum for more information:

I have a training server with Office 2010 installed. This is a new machine and at random times I have received the following error. Excel is not open when this happens and I have not find a solution that applies to windows server 2008.
The machine has all the latest updates, and looking at the hhctrl.ocx file, it seems to be the original file and not have been modified by updates. Thank you.

Is the office version x86? try x64.MCTS - Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
