Event forwarding working but no description
Hi, What kind of event log are you trying to forward? From the error, the component related to the event log is not installed on the computer you get the forwarded logs. Have a a try to forward some regular logs and see the result. TechNet Subscriber Support in forum |If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tnmff@microsoft.com.

Hi , I've successfully setup a event subscription for around 20 servers, and i have confirmed that all events are coming through successfully. however when an event does come through, the description shows as The description for Event ID xxxx from source Services cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: No client computers have ever contacted the server. The locale specific resource for the desired message is not present Has anyone got any ideas what may cause this. The servers that are forwarding the events are 2003 and 2008 and it happening with both. I have read many articles regarding this and no-one seems to have a perminant of definite fix only guesses. i have read that the DLL's tied to the event string dont not get transfered across to the forwarding so there the information cannot show, however other people have said that when it is forwaded it keeps the .dll files in tact and should show correctly?? Any help is greatly appreciated. also the details and /xml tab show perfectly well it is just the description within the general tab
