Error : The system could not log you on.Make sure user name and domain are correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct Case. But once we restart the server . It will work fine .. i am facing this problem three to four times in a month . Getting Event ID : 4000 & 9999 in DNS. Event ID : 4000 The DNS server was unable to open Active Directory. This DNS server is configured to obtain and use information from the directory for this zone and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly and reload the zone. The event data is the error code. Event ID : 9999 The DNS server has encountered numerous run-time events. For event ID 4000, refer to this Microsoft article: http://technet.microsoft.com/fr-ch/library/cc735673(v=WS.10).aspx As I see you've got DNS problems. Please use Microsoft Skydrive to upload the output of these commands on all your DCs: ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt [from each DC/DNS Server] dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:dcname >c:\dcdiag.txt repadmin /showrepl dc* /verbose /all /intersite >c:\repl.txt ["dc* is a place holder for the starting name of the DCs if they all begin the same (if more then one DC exists)] dnslint /ad /s "DCipaddress" (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321045) Once done, post a link here. Hi, Have you restart the DNS Server service as the technet article suggested? Any progress? How many DNS servers do you have? If you have two and the servers point to each other as primary and themselves as secondary, the event 4004 will be recorded if one of them has been removed or down. Also, please check to make sure your internal DNS settings do not points to your ISP or a router DNS. The issue also can occur if the DC either is not configured to use a correct DNS server, or the zone does not have the needed SRV records, or the DNS or DC is multihomed computer or RRAS server that register multiple A records. Please also run dcdiag and netdiag.exe to troubleshoot this issue. If any error is showed, please paste the error here for research. Thanks.
