We've had SCOM 2007 R2 running for years now, and unless my memory is failing me, never had this event ID come in before.

It's 10870 and it came into the RMS.

The details read:

Mom failed executing SQL Job p_DetectAndFixInstanceSpaceInconsistencies.  Details: Transaction (Process ID 321) was deadlocked on lock | communication buffer resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction..

I searched on the web and found NOT ONE reference to Event 10870.

I found this question on SCOM failing to remove deleted instances, but, I am not sure that is related.
