Evaluation and Testing of Patches in Windows Server 200x
Is this still viable? Being a relatively new IT auditor, this happens to be a standard requirement we impose to most of our clients, with mostly none of them complying, of course. Their rationale is that Microsoft itself already suggested the application of the patches to further secure the network, so, why bother testing if it works? The cost of an additional test server may clearly outweigh the benefits. And honestly, I'm quite convinced. But as skepticism dictates, a second opinion should be in order. So what do you think?

Hi, Please understand Microsoft releases updates to fix known issues and increase the stability and security of Windows, and we have tested as much of the software environment as we could to improve the performance of updates. However, we cannot guarantee that updates can work perfectly in all environments because every company has different software and hardware configurations. Installing updates without any test in a company environment may cause unexpected issues and this may affect your company tremendously. Therefore, we recommend you test every update in your environment before dispatching it to your clients to make sure no issue will occur after the installation. Thank you for your understanding.
