Yeah, I'm trying to push SP1 for Windows 7 through WSUS and I'm getting the same thing. I've been impressed with Windows 7 so far, Microsoft! Don't fail me now or I may have to inadvertedly slip in how my mac has never failed an update in about three and a half years. Except for the Office 2008 updates, that is.

Arthur_Li, thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately I don’t have another working Windows Server 2008 to copy the file from. Can you send me the file?

Hi, The file I have is “amd64_microsoft-windows-f..vices-bpa.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_7.1.7600.16422_en-us_bade5e6fb8b3878c.manifest”. The version is higher than the one you need. Based on the current situation, please use the original Windows Server 2008 R2 installation disk to install a new operating system on another server and copy the file “amd64_microsoft-windows-f..vices-bpa.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_7.1.7600.16421_en-us_bade5e6fb8b3878c.manifest”. Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Arthur, I have used the original Windows Server 2008 R2 installation disk to install a new operating system on another server as you suggested. But the file “amd64_microsoft-windows-f..vices-bpa.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_7.1.7600.16421_en-us_bade5e6fb8b3878c.manifest” is not there neither. Can you point me where I can find this file to be able to upgrade my server?

Sorry Arthur_Li, Your suggestions were not helpful at all. If there is an internal database of all patch files that Microsoft released, can someone search for this file please?

Hi, For the detailed troubleshooting suggestions, please refer to the following Microsoft TechNet article: Advanced guidelines for diagnosing and fixing servicing corruption http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee619779(WS.10).aspx Regards, Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Arthur_Li, The Microsoft TechNet article is not helpful because it doesn’t provide any reasonable solution how to obtain missing file. All three options are useless: 1. Obtain files from another computer – I don’t have that luxury of having the exact same version of everything on a second computer. 2. Obtain files from the Update package – It is impossible to find out what package the file came from. 3. Obtain files from the Windows DVD – There is no such file on the Windows DVD.
